Filter Library
The Filter Library allows you to save public or private search filters that can be quickly executed without having to re-enter the search criteria on every execution. These filters can range from simple to complex, allowing you to retrieve the exact cases based on your needs.
To access the Filter Library, navigate to Cases > Filter Library from the left navigation menu.
Add/Edit Case Filters
To create a new case filter, click the Create New Filter button in the top right corner of the Filter Library page. To edit an existing case filter, click the Actions button next to a case filter and select Edit.
The Create/Edit Case Filter window consists of three tabs: General, Rules, and Columns
Add/Edit Case Filters > General
The General tab is where identifying case filter information is captured.

Name - A friendly name for the case filter. Name is required prior to saving.

Description - A description used to help identify the the case filter.

Share Filter - When enabled, the case filter will be accessible for execution by other users within your organization. If Share Filter is disabled, the filter will only be accessible by your user account. In the case filters list, shared filters will display the shared icon next to the filter name. Depending on how your organizations MotionCX permissions are configured, other users may be able to edit the case filter.
Add/Edit Case Filters > Rules
Case filter rules allow you to specify the criteria to be used when executing the case filter. Rules can be built using most case fields, various types of operators, as well as comparisons between multiple rules.
Adding Rules - To add rules to a case filer, click the Add Rule button. A new rule will be added and may contain the following fields:

Field - Select the field in which you would like to query against. Various case fields are available for selection, as well as custom fields configured for your organization.

Operator - The operator allows you to select the logic applied to the Field. The operators available for use will depend on the type of Field selected.

Value - The value field will vary depending on the Field selected, and may be hidden completely depending on the selected Operator.

Comparison - The comparison field will be hidden until more than one rule is added to the filter. When multiple rules exist, the comparison of AND and OR will be available to compare the rule with the rule listed directly below it.
Removing Rules - To remove a rule, click the X button next to the rule.
Add/Edit Case Filters > Columns
The columns tab allows you to select the fields you would like to display when the case filter is executed. One or more columns can be added to the filter and ordered based on your preference. At least one column must be added prior to save.
Add Columns - To add columns click the Add Column button, check one or more columns, then click the Select button.
Remove Columns - To remove a column click the X button next to the column name.
Order Columns - When a filter is executed, the columns will be ordered with the top column listed displayed to the left. To order columns, left click and hold the move icon to the left of a column name, then drag the column to it's desire place in order and release.
Viewing Case Filter Criteria
If you have access to a shared filter but do not have the ability to edit it, you can still view the criteria used on the filter by using the view action. To view the filter click the Actions button next to the filter name and select View.
Viewing Case Filter Results
To execute a case filter and view its results, click the Actions button next to the filter name and select View Cases. The filter will execute and display results based on the filter selected.
Favorite Case Filters
If there are case filters you run on a regular basis it may be beneficial to add them to your favorites list. Favorite case filters are displayed under Cases in the left navigation menu and can be executed with a single click.
Add To Favorites - To favorite a case filter, click the Actions button next to the filter name and select Add To Favorites. A star will be displayed next to the filter name in the case filters list and will be added to the left navigation menu.
Remove From Favorites - To remove a case filter from your favorites, click the Actions button next to the filter name and select Remove From Favorites. The filter will no longer display in the left navigation menu.
Delete Case Filters
To delete a case filter, click the Actions button next to the filter name and select Delete. If a favorite case filter is deleted the filter will be removed from the left navigation menu.
